Okay, so my "Nevada Resident" buddy calls me last night and asked if I would go with him on his Bull Elk hunt. Well, it took about 2 seconds for my brain to tell my mouth to say H-E-double hockey sticks YES!!! His tag is for hunt 4151 in units 131-132.
He drove out there last weekend to try and get the lay of the land as it was his 2nd choice and he is not all that familiar with the area. The hunt is from Nov. 12th - 27th so the Rut should be pretty much over and the Bulls will most likely be hanging in small groups and some loners in the heavy trees but that's about all I know. It's a rather large area with only 11 tags issued so the hunting pressure should be mild at least. We plan on staying out there all 15 days or until he fills his tag, whichever comes first.
Any information on the area would be greatly appreciated. It has taken my friend 27 years of putting in for his Nevada resident Bull tag to finally get drawn so we would like to be as well prepared as possible. There must be someone amongst the JHO family that has hunted in or is familiar with the unit and can provide a little insight.
Thanks and happy hunting to all!
