For next year is a hunt of my choice but has to be reasonable in price and have acomidations that are good for my prissy wife who does not like to camp. I figure to keep prices low I would go with a bear or boar hunt. I have been to Bow safari in OK and had a good time but would like to try something diffrent. I am looking for a place to go that would be within 12 hours drive time from Kansas City or more if the price was right. I would like the opportunity to take a trophy boar 200 lbs or more I don't really care the method as far as spot stalk guided horeseback bowhunt gunhunt etc... but would probably lean more toward my bow if possible. Not interested in a place that wants to charge me a "Trophy Fee" just a place that is overrun with hogs big and small that pretty much says have at it for one set price. I can bring my own food or eat out no problem or willing to stay at a motel if near the hunt. I think y'all get the idea what I am getting at I basically want the most bang/pig for my buck.

Thoughts anyone?

Take a look at Texas.

There are a ton of operations down there, and hog hunts are pretty reasonably priced. Several places offer nice lodging on a ranch, with general amenities for non-hunting guests. There are plenty of hogs down there as well, and you can pretty much use whatever method to take them you want.

I agree with speckmisser..........there are plenty of places to hunt in Texas for hogs.........I hunted this ranch last year and had a blast.....I'd recomend the exotic hunt for $250 a day...you get a hog thrown in the packeage and you get a chance at shooting an axis......what I went for.....go here and check out the web site ---> chambers ......there are all kinds of places to hunt in texas........ a virtual hunters paradise.........good luck and happy hunting.

BirdDawg, that place looks like fun. How did you get there? Is there an airport nearby?

actually I drove there........took 2 days in my jeep but I figured I'd be hauling back an axis buck......unfortunately the closest I got to one not in velvet was 80 yards.....not worth taking a chance at crippling one........I did have 2 huge axis bucks come under my stand but were in velvet and they don't let you shoot them.........I had several nice whitetail bucks under my stand along with the ocasional herd of oudad, sheep and alot of hogs.........seen several fallow deer but they already lost there racks.....you can probably fly into San Antonio, TX........about an hour drive to the ranch.......I ended up comming home empty handed as the only thing I wanted was an axis buck.......but this was probably the most fun hunting I can remember.......the ocomodations were pretty good, beds,tv room and such........had a nice fishing pond there where I heard my first bucks grunting in the brush........I'm sure there are plenty of places to hunt in Texas that may be better but for the price I think you can't beat it.
