Hello all, I moved here about 5 years ago from Utah because my wife is from here. I live in yucaipa and am getting the bird hunting down as far as doves in the salton sea; also quail and chukar. but I am looking for sportsmen that of course follow the laws completely and our safe first off. I have big game hunted since I was a kid and have done archery, muzzleloader and rifle for mule deer, elk, pig, antelope and bear. I am 35 years old and want to hunt with some guys down here that are in the same boat. I am new school and believe in hiking back into the backcountry, cape, field dress, quarter, and pack the animal out in a good pack like a badlands 4500 or a eberlestock pack. I dont believe in dragging a animal period like my dad. I also am a firm beleiver in good optics and taking your time. I was a fly-fishing guide in Alaska for 7 years and my passion is now big game so if you are on the same page as me, from Yucaipa and our safe plus follow the laws send me a pm..I hunt Colorado, wyoming, Utah and Washington for the most part. Looking forward to meeting some hunting buddys for life here in California!!

B. regards

I live up the hill in Big Bear. Two of my brothers live in Yucaipa. I hunt more than they do, but we get together on occassion. I would be happy to have a new hunting friend. I have lived hear for about 8 years now. I am 37 and it sounds like we may have similar hunting styles. Let me know.

Patrick, same here I am 49 retiring in January have tried hunting in Wyoming, Colorado and throughout California. Not many like my style of hunting but it sounds real close to yours. Just came back from Colorado near Rifle hunting Elk. Until my brother killed a spike it was the best hunt since 2006. Day one was like 4th of July for 3 hours. 8 Elk down in 3 hours. all within 200 yards of my field I was squatting on. Since my bro hit a spikey we went home early meatless........Next year will be better. I use a Marlin 444 or a Wheatherby 257. I favor the 444. My pack is a Stansport and I have had 65 pounds on it. This last elk we boned it on site and I think it will be the way I go for all my game. Why haul it out just to throw it away?

Micah same goes for you, anytime. grumpyjoe@verizon.net
