Hello,

I am trying to plan a hog hunt with a friend, one last pig hunt before leaving for basic. I live in the Manteca/Stockton area, so somewhere within easy driving distance would be a huge plus. Easy driving would be under two hours. Is there a good public area or do I have to look into getting permission to hunt private land?

Thank you
Shayne

Yes, me and my buddy have been wanting to do the same thing but living in So. Cal its hard to get info on where to go. The only places I know of are the Vandenberg or Hunter Ligitt

If you are willing to drive 2 to 2.5 hours from Stockton, I can give you a decent area where you'll have a good chance on public land. PM me for details.

You have cache creek to the north and a few places south around coalinga, and theres cotton wood to the south. Other then that I would head to FHL,

Also there is Frank Raines OHV park west of Patterson. But you need to go to Modesto to get the permits to hunt there first.
