We are a group of 6 hunters who are wanting to sign a hunting lease for year round access to hogs and deer in the Northern - Central California area. An insurance policy to protect the home owner will be provided along with many credible references to establish our clean ethics and responsibility. We're well aware of the expense associated with this type of lease and without throwing out any projected numbers, all I can say is that all reasonable offers will be entertained. If you are an owner or a guide looking to subsidize your income, please contact me. Thank you for your time.

I'm always on the lookout for private leases for pigs and deer. Most I have run accross are SO expensive, we are talking hunting here not opening a resort. There are some in the Parkfield area but watch for larry hamilton...

Simply curious

What are the "going prices" for leasing land. You mention they are "So expensive". I'm simply curious as to what the costs are - I'm not planning on trying to lease land. Also, for the same curiosity, do you lease bird hunting land and if so, what cost? I just spent two days pig and dove hunting with Frank Hook on Jack Ranch. He spent from 5:30 am till after dark with us on both days (other than a break in midday when we "oldsters" napped as it has really hot outside) and he deserved every penny he charged us and more in my opinion.

Depending on how much acreage there is, you can spend up to 10 grand on a lease.

The prices I have been quoted range all over the place from the low ball $250 from Larry Hamilton to over $10k for a year. The one I just heard about is $2900 per year for two deer, quail but no pigs and no guests.
Most are way out of my budget.

Thanks Easy Money and Allvyns for the $ numbers on the leasing. Of course, ignoring Larry H as a scam, the prices are certainly not inexpensive but similar to what I heard in Virginia when I visited my college roommate who now lives there.

I know of a piece of property that is something like 8700 acres right above Willits. That is leased by 8 gentlemen and runs the group a cool 48,000 a year for all hunting rights. That is 6000 per person and I dunno if they can take guests or not. But I do know that they take some DANDYS every year.

I've heard that it is about 2 grand for every 1000 acres and it is more expensive in central Cali than in norcal.

I agree with the above. Especially if it had year round water. Stream, pond, etc
