Got a call today to go get some pigs. went out an at an top of a hill spotted them and drove down the hill and got within 100 yards picked the biggest one out of the bunch and took a shot, watched the hog buckle down on his front sholder almost fell over and ran. I ran around the trees and hoped to see where he was going but nope, I think he went into the brush, so i followed. I looked in every tunnel for some sine of blood but couln't find any. I herd a grunting and walked around and I could here a hog in their I made some grunt sounds and the pig started coming to me, I get ready to shoot an out comes a little black hog maybe a 30 40 pounder, I keep grunting and he keeps coming, got with in 20 feet went to get a picture with my phone but it spooked and ran off. Well time to get in that brush, stuff was thick, and 6' high, got down an started searching for the shot one spent 3 or 4 hours back and fourth out to 3 or 400 yards the way I think he ran but no luck. should of used my bow would of had him, next time

Sorry to hear about losing this one. Not a fun activity, going after a wounded pig. A few years back I got charged by a hog that I had arrowed when I went looking for it in the brush ...

If you continue to hunt a lot of pigs, I'd recommend getting a dog that can do some blood tracking. It takes fairly little training for a dog with the right genetics and they are so much better at it than we'll ever be.

win some lose some. I know how you feel. And the thing that will stay with you is the notion that he was probabally 3 feet away from you at some point when you were looking all those hours.

I shoot my bow a lot more than guns and the lumanocks let you see where you hit

gotcha...ME TOO! sadly, it doenst matter how much i shoot a bow..i'll always be a better shot with a rifle. (i blame it on my right hand, left eye dominant thing)

at least you're seeing pigs and slinging projectiles at them..well done.
