It's actually the husband of a gal I work with but he won an all inclusive elk hunt at this place in Colorado.....

It's for some TV hunting show. Second week of Sept. They have given him a rifle, clothes, binoculars and have asked if he wants a robe provided in his room and what type of soap he prefers.

I'll find out what show it is. I'm not one bit jealous. I should also add that his son won some sort of Govenor's type tag for a muzzleloader hunt in New Mexico. I think they should go to Vegas for about a week!

not really my style... I prefer to "rough it" and do it myself. That being said, Hell yeah I'd go in a heart beat! Sounds like an awesome time, good luck to him! That's the only way I'd ever do it though, if I won it, so why not enjoy a little slice of "the other side"...

Was watching Bereta'a outdoor show last night and they were elk hunting on the 3-forks. In October they have more elk on the ranch than Yellowstone Nationall Park. They have the second largest free range elk herd than any other private ranch.

I saw the same show. I think the only problem he wil have is trying to pick which one he wants to shoot. There was elk every where. Congrats to him. I am sure he will have a great time. Better start saving for the taxi bill now.

That is some very nice country. My brother got married a couple of miles from that Ranch and the locals were telling me about how good the hunting is there. Hahn Peak , Hahn Lake and Columbine, CO are in the vicinity, just magnificent scenery. My wife and I can't wait to go back there, the camping in the National Forest campgrounds is great, some of the best I have been to.
That is one lucky guy to win a hunt on private land there, sure wish it was me going.

So, is he paying the $1250 to take his wife along as a companion? Looking at the rates, I could not pay the additional income tax on that hunt! They have to issue a 1099.

Probably cheaper to take her with, than leave at home to shop while he's gone...
