Talk about luck. I drew the Grizzly Island bull tag and was drawn 32 of 32 for Likely Table Antelope hunts in 2001. Here is a pic of my Bull Elk. He grossed 354 1/8 and I never netted him. The Lope was 16 1/2 on both sides with nice ivory tips. RG

WOW! What luck indeed! Now you need to play the lotto (and win) so that you can vault your ceiling so the Elk isn't mounted just a few feet off the floor.

Good going, and welcome aboard!

Dang, that WAS lucky! I'd like to be half that lucky, but it didn't happen this year.

Anyway, welcome to JHO! Stick around, and let's see if some of that luck will wear off on us.

Thanks guys. Yeah I am new. I have been to Jesse's pages before but I never noticed the boards. The old boards I hung out at kinda have died off the last few years..almost noone posts anymore. Hope to be here with ya awhile. Planning on Bowhunting Oregon this year with pops( guy in the first phot). He just turned 77 this year so I gotta start spending as much hunting time as I can with him. He almost had me break down crying this january(archery mulies in AZ) when he told me he thinks this may be his last year..that he just isnt up to the getting out of bed early and hunt all day that we used to do...and that I better start looking for a new hunting partner. Had me sobbing like a little kid again. So I said...we'll just start conforming the hunts to stuff you can handle. So I bought him a Black Bear hunt in Canada for next year. That way he can sit in a stand and not get to physically exhausted. Anyway...glad to be hear.

Thanks,

RG

Welcome Railgunner, glad you made it over to JHO. I remembered you posted some scouting photo of those bulls before your hunt. "DAMN YOU LUCKY DOG!" I've said it to you on the other site and again here.
<
and didn't know you also got the lope tag. Now that's another "DAMN YOU LUCKY DOG!"
<
Anyway congrats and the elk mount look nice. But where is the lope mount?

That elk is a great looking mount, did you have the speed goat mounted too?

Railguner,
Awesome animals. You brought a tear to my eye talking about your pops. Mine started talking the same way and we told him to nock it off. We would push him out on some point with his rifle in a wheelchair if we had to. I sacrifised a few hunting opertunities after that to hunt with him and it was time well spent.

Live2Hunt..I put up a couple of mounted photos in the Antelope section. I had to run back to pops place to snap a few shots. My new house doesnt have any good walls to mount/display my trophies. SO IM BUYING A NEW ONE!
