These two were soaring right over my house today!!! I had to shoot through a bunch of tree branches, the focus isn’t too great and I wish I could have gotten a side shot… it was super cool seeing them! They are as shot with a slight crop, hopefully I will be able to fix them up a little.

And seeing this Glaucous gull (Larus hyperboreus) was just as cool as seeing the eagles for me. They are very rare around here… their habitat is closer to the artic. In the gull world… this is one bad a$$! They capture and eat auks, plovers, small ducks, ptarmigans, songbirds, lemmings, and fish.

Some really nice shots there. Saw an eagle here for the first time ever just the other day, was unable to get a pic though.

Thanks Wnthunt, it always seems that after you see a bird for the first time... it happens more often (lol, I hope that made sense). Keep a camera with you and I'm sure you will get a shot soon.
