Not yet Chuck, this will be my fourth season bowhunting the.lake. I blew a great opportunity on a monster hog there 2 years ago and passed up a 12 yrd shot on a 7 lb. dinker to live another day, really getting to understand l.s now so hopefully this year will be the charm! Have a great day!....tra

Feed 'em to the hogs!

I've hunted the area twice, and got one pig, with dogs on Cooley Ranch. I'm going back for a third time this coming November, and really look forward to seeing how a 58 year old body stacks up against a 57 year old body that I used last year. Hopefully, much better, since I've been working out a bunch since then. It really doesn't matter how old you are, it's how you hunt that counts. Sounds like Mr. Sanders is a fearless individual, and to be commended on having waded into the fray once again.
Those pigs are probably descended from the ones kept by the Chinaman in "Deadwood." I know they can make short work of a dog or another small animal if they catch them. If you've seen the Youtube video of the wild pigs chasing off the Leopard, you can see they pack a wallop.:butt whoopin:

I turned 70 this year, and the posted story is one of the reasons why I spend more time fishing than hunting. Another reason is that I would need help getting a pig back to the truck. Not to mention getting stuck in the river, and my boy having to cut his class at San Jose State to drive down to FHL to pull me out.


I can still hunt, but it seems like I'm causing a lot of problems out in the field?

Good thing the Pomos don't still have the land around lake Sonoma. There would be dead cars, beer cans and trash all over the place!

care to think back to what it woulda looked like with out the white mans fire water and small pocks and all the other great things we did for the indians? I know as hunters we'er all brothers and should have each others backs rather than throats but you do know you sound like an ignorant racist when you type shit like that? and that sounds like most of the public acess land in the woods and I don't offen see indians out and about in the woods usually it's cletus and billy-bob out with a caser of beer some guns and a load of trash in the back of the chevy goin to dump some junk in the woods. Just sayen think before you open your mouth/type. Better to be silent and thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt.

I found the comments on the article's page as interesting as the article itself. It's sad, but it doesn't surprise me that most non hunters don't understand the concept of an invasive species.
