Hey Dan, you could be onto something there. Although, I imagine you could find him by the sign. You know, the one that says, "Private Property. No Tresspassing."

Hatchet, tell your wise old hog hunting friend that I'll be sure to heed that advice about shooting them in the arse with the .325.

Sounds like a good tip to take to heart.

I don't think I'd shoot one there on purpose, but if he were 200 yards away on the trot, I can see how it could happen. I'll remember to give 'em plenty of lead.

The 325 sounds like a real thumper... Anyone else using one and if so, what is your take on their performance?

Daddy63, I haven't used mine on game yet...although I'm hoping to finally end that Tejon next month (was supposed to happen last month... but que sera).

At the range, though, it's a dream. I'm very pleased with the accuracy of this thing, and have full confidence that when I do level it at a pig it's gonna whack him.

I have the BOSS and an aftermarket recoil pad on it, which really tames it... although, honestly, it doesn't need a lot of taming. I'd put the recoil of an un-compensated .325wsm below that of the .300 winmag... and I shot the .325 and .300wsm side by side at SHOT just to compare. Honestly, the .325 X-bolt (Browning's new rifle) didn't seem to kick as hard as the new M70 in .300wsm.

One catch is the availability of ammo. At this time I can't find a factory-loaded copper bullet for it. I reload anyway, but if you don't this is gonna be an issue with almost all of the WSMs. Something to keep in mind.

speckmisser,

Thanks for the info.It sounds like a damn good round. The availability of ammo is a good point. Sounds like the recoil is quite manageable. especially after some time.

I use a Sims pad and really like it. It seems to help a lot. Thanks again

Sancho, yeah, I think it does get some use in Africa... on paper it's close to par with the .338 magnum for power, but with the trajectory closer to the .300win mag. That's a lethal combination!

I bought it mainly for elk, and because I was intrigued by the round. Figure it'll be good for hogs too, although a little overkill for 98% of the pigs I shoot.

I don't "need" it, as all of my hunting needs are met by my old 30-06. I got it because I wanted it.

You might not "need" it for 98% of the hogs, but that 2% is the reason you carry it.........
