Okie dokie fellas... some of you have already read about my experience on this weekend's archery hunt, and know that I've got blood in my eyes and vengeance in my heart!
Or something like that.
But I AM ready to get out there with rifle in hand and see about putting some pork in the freezer. I hope you fellas are ready too!
So as we get things going, start packing and repacking, I'll keep you all updated with logistics. And first thing of all, let's talk about breakfast.
Let's try to meet up around 0830 on Friday morning at the Flying J in Gorman. Same place as always. I think everyone knows where it is.
Barbara has been at the Reno Elk Camp this weekend, so as soon as she gets back and we get in touch, I'll have the check-in details.
At this time, is there anyone who thinks they will not be able to make a 1000 or 1100 check-in?
Is there anyone who will not have a 4wd vehicle?
Is there anyone who is not planning to camp, but instead will stay in the motel up the road (wimp!)?
Also, for those who are thinking of tenting it...
One thought might be to go in with someone on the rental of an RV or camper. I know that over in Dublin, you can rent a 25' motorhome for about $400 for the four-day weekend (pick up Thursday, return Monday), or you can get a full-blown bus for about $600. Comforts of home without leaving home....
With the winds we experienced over the weekend, a tent might be tentative... It is possible that we'll see similar conditions next weekend.
Anyway, just something to think about.
More to come!
