Hey Y'all:

Just wondering who will be heading to Tejon on March 12th. My buddies and I will be hunting the south side. Driving a silver F150 with new JHO logo sticker. Pulling a 19 ft. trailer. Hope to spend some time around the campfire with a few of you, from the JHO crew.

11 days to go!

I'm gonna stick a bad 'ole boar!

Have fun, Brent.

We'll be waiting eagerly for pictures and stories. Treat it like a dress-rehearsal for May!

Yo,

Did you get chains for that new rig of yours? Might be a good Idea.

Have fun ...be safe.

"I'm gonna stick a bad 'ole boar! " Hey Brent does that mean your gonna stick it with a bow? or a bullet? Just looking for some clarification.

I'm leaving the bow at home. I'm taking two rookie buddies. So, I just want to get my hog out of the way, and then concentrate on putting them on some pork. Actually, there will be five of us. So, my plan is to have five hanging by Saturday night, so I can sleep in on Sunday. That would make for a killer weekend, yo.

Hey JHO Hog hunters, The roads on Tejon are dry or will be dry by this weekends POR... The full moon has made the afternoon hunt the best as of late. However I do think this will be another high harvest POR. North of South side of the ranch should see good hog populations...Say hello when we pass or in camp and GOOD HUNTING...

Ron:

Thanks for the good news. Looking forward to seeing you.

Speck: We're only going to take one hog a piece. There will be plenty left over for May.

4 days and counting.

elkron - are you "the" Ron from Tejon. If so, very nice to see you around. We traded a few stories at the January POR. I was driving the red early Bronco with the guys who had a minor check in/registration problem. Hope to see you back up there again soon!

Why yes SONGDOG that would be me. Captain Ron, AKA elkron. I look forward to talking with all of the JHO guys and gals{if you have any}
It should be a fun weekend. It might be a little warn to hang a hog all weekend so I would have an ice chest handy.

Good Hunting,

Thanks! I'm just a little excited at the moment, knowing that in exactly 48 hours, camp will be set up and I'll be driving up a stee-pass, bumpy, dusty road, flanked by green meadows and budding oak trees. Oh yes, the time is near for clean air, and stiff hog hair. Wind. Bucks, with little velvety knobs growing at the speed of a 1/4 inch per day. The first sighting of a hog. Adrenaline. The taste of a cold beer after humping 100 pounds of pork up and over the widow maker. The smell of a campfire. A big smile on my face, while standing downwind of the ribeyes.

I could go into a rhyme. But, I'll spare you all.

Okay Boys, let's dance!

Just thought I would say good hunting to everyone going this weekend. Was up at the ranch last Thursday, Sat., and Sun. On Thursday it was freezing cold and very foggy/misty, also many of the roads were still very bad. On Saturday/Sunday, whole new ballgame. It was clear and pretty warm. By Saturday afternoon all but the worst roads were nearly dry, by Sunday the roads were great.

Saturday afternoon my dad took one of the coolest looking hogs I have seen from the ranch yet (pointy ears, razorback, 2-3" teeth-- it was cool.)

This weekend should be one of those perfect weekends at the ranch. Weather should be great and roads will definately be all dry. Looks like temps in the 50-60's during the day and 30-40's during the night with clear skies and no chance of precipitation (at least that's what weather.com says) I don't know if I will make it up there this weekend or not, but if so I will try to say hello and meet some of you guys. Will be in a grey lifted Jeep Cherokee with rack or a red Ford Ranger.

Good hunting
