FREDERICK COUNTY, MD APRIL 30 - Maryland Natural Resources Police are asking for help identifying the shooter who injured a Frederick man Wednesday morning.
Austin Baumgardner was turkey hunting on private land off of Old Frederick Road near the intersection of Devilbiss Bridge Road around 7:15am Wednesday. The 54-year-old hunter was inflating a turkey decoy and was shot in the back of the head with a 12-guage shotgun from about 50 yards away. The shooter fled the scene.
Baumgardner was treated and released from a hospital.
