For all you Md sportsmen. Did you know that you can now purchase your hunting and fishing licenses online? This is Maryland though, can you believe that you will be gouged for a "convenience fee" to buy the license online. For example, your average $24.50 hunting license will cost you an extra $3.33 for the convenience of purchasing it online!!! I know three buck isn't much, but. I guess they have to pay the kindergardner class for designing the new DNR logo. Looks like crap.

Oh, I almost forgot. Just another reason I am moving to west virginia next month.

The DMV does the same thing here in California. You know it must save them money when you do it on line but they still want to charge you for the "convenience". What a crock

You can also purchase a hunting license online here in Texas as well.. BTW, whats the problem with that??

I figure I am paying more for the convenience. If i dont want to pay the small fee, than I need to get off my ass and go down and buy one. To some of us, our time is worth much more than standing in line waiting for the license!

This also brings up another thought... Why havent I bought my lifetime license yet??????

I wouldn't have a problem with justifiable fees. It's the thought that it costs X amount of dollars to distribute a licence but if they sell it to you on line they save a couple dollars in labor and maybe seller fees (I'm not sure) then charge you extra for the privalige of doing so.

Gary... good points.. They still must have someone process the licenses, print them out, mail them out, etc.. The only step they are missing is the idiot who sells the license to you....

Deershed, I don't really see a problem with the checking the deer in online, not any more of a problem that probably allready exist anyhow. Maybe now , more people will check there Does in. I know that some guys don't check in there deer mainly because they get there first buck early and wait around looking for some does to plug and before they get there 2 does they see that big boy walk by, well guess what, big boy is getting dropped and because they didn't check in there first buck they check this one in though cause of the size.... So maybe the system will work out better, but like any system it is there only for the honest people, no matter what the system is, the dishonest don't care.
