Loved wolfman's comment. Ya u couldve called me too: unemployed, lots of time on my hand, all locked and loaded. Got a gun-cleaning kit for Christmas too. All ready to go pigging. Merry Christmas to all. Be safe.

Omg, I got some excerise at the lake yesterday that's for sure. Well I gave it my best yesterday to find a pig or pigs, got off the trials and hit the hillsides looking for bedded pigs in the clumps of pines, oaks and redwoods but no luck. Ended up checking out several areas of the lake but no action so I called it a day and headed back home for the 3 hr drive.
CRiley thanks for joining me on the morning adventure hunt and can't wait wait to hook up again.
So after about 40 minutes into our morning hunt as we hiked down to the lake level on the casual trail and we were checking out the hillsides and CRiley says u want to check out the clump of oaks and I said way up there that clump of oaks, he said Yeh, ok, 700 ft later we get to the oaks no piggies butt its all good. I love challenge when it comes to hunting, and some of u guys really bring it when it comes to climbing mountain sides butt I am proud for my age I can still hang with the young ones. Here I am in the photo looking down to the lake where we started from to the top, we knocked it out in pretty good time I would say.
After the morning hunt Criley had to go to work so I was on my own for the rest of the day and went on my hunting adventure.
Lake Sonoma has and awesome outdoor bow range built through the hillsides and woods like no other bow range I have shot at. So as I was hiking the Oak Knoll trail I see some nice oaks to check out on the hillsides and as I climbed I found a part of the bow range that is nestled in the hillsides I believe it targets 20 - 26, OMG, u better be in shape to shoot those targets if u can find them, what a set up.
All In all I had a great day out hunting and like I always say Beats Work!
Plan on hitting the lake again this Monday coming up.......tra

Ps.bsanders I do have a chest and back bino sling set up, but I carry a smaller high powered binos on me and then when I am scouting from the truck I pull out those 10x50 to check hillsides and treelines for bedded or feeding pigs with great detail, 10 x50 are to big to lug around!.....tra

Nick, your pics are always so awesome! I had to print out the one that shows you at the top of our 700 ft mountain. I always stay on the trials (it’s safer that way, I’m very clumsy) but hunters don't believe me when I get them registered and tell them you have to be a beast to hike our mountains. HaHa!!
