Razorbacks I believe originated from Russia, Big Mean Piece of Pork with a Flat top hair cut from head to Shoulders.
The top one is a razor back I believe and the second one a Feral Hog which is from a domesticated Hog gone wild.
They will regrow the Tusks and have no problem adapting to being wild. JMHO
The whole naming or ID'ing is very confusing. What we view as a pig is a domesticated descendant of the Eurasian or Russian Wild Pig. The domesticated pig was brought over to America in the 1500's. It eventually escaped or was let loose and went "wild or feral". The Eurasian/Russian wild pig was brought over later for hunting purposes. Then it escaped and the two started interbreeding. And that is what is sometimes called a "wild boar" or many other names, feral hog/pig wild hog/pig etc. The leaner Razorback is more of the interbred boar and the "monster" pictured above is more like a true Eurasian/Russian wild pig.
As far as the "Razorback" here is a good definition of it: These wild boars were called razorbacks because of their high, hair-covered backbone and ill-mannered temper. The razorback hog was considered ruthless and dangerous when backed into a corner.
Apparently some powerful guys on this forum do not like excitement and do not allow here what they themselves feel free to do on other forums( what a hypocrite) .
Just got tired of this BS and decided to take some breath of fresh air.
Would be cool to get Gator J out here for a little camp out and hog hunting. Long ago there was talk of a family style camp out to let people get together and meet each other. That would still be a neat idea. To bad we do not have any large land owners that would work with us on helping set something up. There is one good hunt a year up north. Could always do something similar in central or Southern California too.
Cali, i'd say middle, my playgrounds are Santa Clara, san Benito fresno, king and Monterey Co unless i go wild, then i go to Siskiyou or Tehama, but it is in Fall
