Total BS. I am VERY familiar with this area and where this happened. Do not believe what you hear, facts mean nothing to story tellers.

scapegoat hogs!!! they've ran next to no water down those canals in months...That hole probably happened during the winter...Those hogs most likely happened upon that spot and wallowed...most of the year-round springs here have dried up...my buddy had to dig his well deeper this year....
sounds like those are the wrong type of grapes to be growing on the flood prone river bottom...since when does flooding a orchard ruin 60% of your crop?Grapes have gotta be 90% water..... The guys at sherwood forest tell alot of stories...they had one sounder of hogs visit them a couple years ago
