I told the boss today to count me out on that weekend. I will be at CR. Gunner and hunthard asked about the last hunt there but work is a mess. I am going with a few in tow. I will be at the tracks in a tent. The rv is out of the question with gas prices. Lets get a group together and have a good ol BBQ. Who is able to make it? I am planning on leaving at noon on Friday. Gets me there at about 3 with bad traffic.

Yeah!
We'll be in a tent (blk/wht/yellow) out at the tracks too. Same reason, gas is way too high for the MH.
So far it's me, the 2 younger boys, my BIL, and....get this....my beautiful wife! Yeah, that's right, she wants to go too! She won't be hunting, just along for the hike, but it's a start! Now this is the same girl who, after catching a 9lb trout as her 1st ever fish, would not take a picture with it, because she had no make-up on lol!
I can't wait! We won't be there till late friday night, so we would miss a BBQ on friday.

Blasmaster,

Your post reminds me of my honeymoon.
Pig hunting trip was part of my honeymoon many, many years ago.
Those pictures of our camp, smoke from the fire and yeah I got a pig(back then the limit was one a day).
Have a good time!

Gunner5569,
EvBouret's piglet need not be skinned. Just roast it with the skin and it will come out crispy, crunchy, tasty. 'Nuff said.

Do I dare what?
Eat unskinned baby pig or hunt Memorial Day at Camp Bob? I'll most likely be there to hunt...

Gunners5569,
I have been with the same girlfriend....er wifey for 30 yrs. and with the same company for 28 yrs. so I might be an easy guy to get along with. I have a lot of tolerance and patience and understanding. Life is too short to be negative. I think that JHO sticker that Jesse will be mailing to us is definitely a good way to be connected with the vast JHO crew on the hunting grounds. If I see a JHO sticker on the hunting grounds I most definitely will say Hello and chit-chat. 'Nuff said and God Bless.

Woo-Hoo! Sounds like a lot of JHO at CR for this hunt! I'm getting real excited about this (and not in a Brokeback Mountain kinda way either) seeing, and meeting some other JHOers. I just wish we could get there earlier on Friday.

I read there was over 250 hunters there on the April hunt
<
That seems like a whole lot of people for that small of a base. Those who went in April, do you know if those totals were for Saturday and Sunday, or was there 250 people there on Saturday. I know public land hunting gets crowded, but man that just seems packed.

How long was the waiting line of cars?

I know it gets crowded there, but it seems mostly at check-in, and once you're in the field, it's not too bad. Although the river can feel a little like the bead line at Thermolito, if you get out of the truck and hike a bit, you can get away from it all.

ps: I got 2 tags, 'cause I want to try one of those fire-roasted whole-pigs too!
