Opening weekend of cow season I bagged a nice 3.5 yo cow elk!!! Got to love being able to kill an elk within 30 min of the house!! Oh...And shredded elk enchladas are great!! Sorry for the cruddy pics but I forgot my camera and the girlfriends camera battery was dead.

I had a feeling you would get one. And you got her out whole. Nice clean looking piece of meat. Winter doesn't seem quite so long with an elk in the freezer.

Yea I'm really glad we got one...Although between truck problems, thanksgiving, and butchering we didn't have much time to make it out and find one for the girlfriend. But that's ok...Shooting another elk would have caused other problems anyways (ie new freezer) and we have enough meat to make it through the winter!! It's really nice to get the elk out whole it makes life easier!! Are you going to be busy next month?? Want to try and make it out for a chuckar hunt in jan??

Sure. I'm trying to build a shop and pole barn over the winter so I'll be around. Damn it sure turned cold!
