I just got an email from a friend (Bob Sutherland) that just scored big yesterday on his ranch in Montana. (I don't know the zone/area) The elk just started occupying his ranch the last couple of years and this is the fruit of his labor:

"He scored 355 plus, and I shot him at 365 yards, with a 7mm Magnum"

Gatorfan,

Congrats to Bob on this nice bull and a nice long shot. No snow on the ground? Guess it's staying pretty nice up there right now.

Cheers.

That's a nice bull and a pretty sweet deal getting him from his own ranch!

great looking bull. Is it just me or the pic or is the body unusually small? the rack is impressive as hell but in that pic that body looks dinky? Any info. on that? Not knocking it, just curious?

Yeah, I agree. I haven't talked to him since he got the bull, but I'll post up the weight when I find out. I'm pretty sure this was a trophy harvest..........

No doubt it's a trophy, it would go on my wall for sure... I was just curious about the body, not knocking the Elk in any way. I'd have shot him in a heart beat!

Did that bull break his right front leg or is that where the first shot went? Just curious.

Not sure and I didn't want to ask. I noticed several things that are odd about the picture, but I didn't want to take anything away from his trophy.

Gator fan,
What area did he hunt if you mind I ask. I'm going to try Elk in montana next year. I hunted deer south east montana two years ago. My wife took her 1st buck and it was a decent mulie buck.2X3 25" wide.
