Here is a elk my dad shot yesterday. He was hunting about 30 minutes from his house on a friends ranch. It may not be a huge elk but it is a trophy to my dad and I'm proud of him. My father in law was hunting with him and was there to help my dad load it up and take care of it. Thanks Randy and congratulations dad.

I love it when you can load em into the truck without packing em out. My legs still hurt from packing out my elk this year.

I'm off to Montana tomorrow morning. I live in Southern California and I pick up my dad (who is 80) in Seattle and we then drive to White Sulphur which is east of Helena to hunt the week of Thanksgiving.

It is a lot of driving but the hunting is great. It is either sex the last week of the season and there are a bunch of elk in that country. We've gone the past 12 years and usually manage at least one cow plus some deer.

Big fun, and the people in Montana are nice...
