Montana hunters a little help

Hey guys ive got a big game tag and have highered a pack trip guide but i want to go up the week before and hunt upland game. And if the chance come across i would like to take my deer before hand and then consatrate on just elk with the guide. I will be near boze and in unit 13 all help is welcome and will be going up the week before thanksgiving so thanks in advance.

Call the FWP region you'll be hunting and get a copy of the Block Management Area (BMA) map. Basically, it's a map of private ranches that you can hunt for upland birds and big game; probably a good shot at some pheasants and whitetails. Kind of fun to poke around the different ranches.
