New here, been browsing the links etc. Looked over the numbers for state harvest of hogs and Monterey county's numbers are just outrageous. Is there any public land there available to hunters? Or is this mostly private land numbers.

Thanks ahead of time,

Brandon

99% of those hogs are taken on private land.

The big question has anyone here hunted those lands. Just because I can hunt on it, does not mean there is something there to hunt.

I will go out on limb and say, there has to be hogs on/near the border with FHL.

I agree with SDHUNTER... All of the Central Coast counties have obscene numbers of pigs, BUT most are on private land leased by guides who sell for profit hunts. If you want to hunt on public land, you will need to put in the miles(and I do Mean Miles) because most pigs are just passing through to the more productive private property. It is mostly luck that you would stumble upon any at all...
Your best bet is FHL or Camp Bob. Good luck.

You guys are right, there is lots of public land. But very, very few of the reported hog take actually come from public land.
