The results are in.....

Sunrise (we'll include sunset) photos are the topic. Choose your best ONE photo to submit for voting. If you wish to post more than one photo (keep it limited to three photos), please make sure you indicate which photo is the one that will be voted on.

Photos must be submitted by midnight on Feb. 25, 2008. Voting will take place Feb. 26 through 8 PM PST on Feb. 28.....winner announced on Feb. 29 (if I'm near the computer). Winner will have until midnight on March 3, 2008, to choose the new topic or it will defer to me to pick the next topic.

Good luck everyone.

Here is the previous rules from the photo contest before.....I think it's best to have one photo to vote on to make it simpler tallying votes. So with the exception to rule #4 (like I said above, you can still post three but specify which you think is the best one for us to vote on), please adhere to the following:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (lan-lord @ Oct 9 2005, 06:03 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div>
These are the rules and procedures for the JHO monthly photo contest.

1.) Photos must be your own.

2.) Photos must be from a hand held camera. (no video or trail cameras)

3.) The photograph may have been taken at any point in time (e.g. does not have to be within the last month)

4.) Up to 3 photos may be entered per contest.

5.) Keep your photos less than 800 pixels wide.

6.) The winner will choose the next month's topic.

feel free to provide additional details with the photos that you submit, such as camera used, settings or mode photographed in, story behind the photo, or anything else that you think is significant or interesting.

if you need help posting pics here in the forum, please see this thread for more info.

Here is my sunrise entry...taken from the balcony of our cruise ship. It's not exactly what I had in mind, but since my wife is due any day now I don't have the time to go out and get the shot I'd like.......

Here's mine, it's a sunset. Was taken many years ago with a 35mm after an evening of ground hog hunting and deer scouting. Was taken in mid July.

Well...mine are sunsets. This first picture is the one I want y'all to vote for. It was the first weekend of the Kansas rifle season for deer. I had gone down to my buddies cabin to hang out while they hunted. It was windy as all get out, but I talked Shawn into going out hunting anyway. Towards evening the specks were flying over the cabin, "trying" to get back to the marsh. They were trying to head west in a 35 MPH south wind, so they were down below the hard pan so to speak fighting it all the way. Just as I got done taking a few pictures, Shawn walked in telling us he had a buck down. It was an awesome sunset that night.

My entry for the month is a sunset picture - I'm at work before the sunrises, so no opportunities for sun rises. I took this a few summers ago while my husband was racing to finish baling the field before the storm hit. It has always been one of my favorites.
