Montrose hunt is a BIG GO

I only got 2 rifle so I am hoping the elk are not running hard by then. We were going to Meeker for 2nd rifle after 1st in Montrose but I am not sure it will be worth it. Any one have any ideas of success in zone 66 2nd rifle? From what I remember 3rd is almost little chance in Meeker.

What time of year? We've hunted 65 numerous times, but in early september with muzzleloaders...

It will be 66 2nd rifle and that puts it mid October. Meeker I have had good luck thru 2nd rifle. I went on the word of a friend and since we are driving out together I thought it would increase my chances of having the hunting partner actually show up.
