Well, why fight it? (even tho I think it sucks...the sentimental part of me who hates progress) I'd like to make money off it since stopping it is impossible.....so, how to I get in on phase 1? figuring it might be worth a free pig or two before the true sprawl, and anti-hunting sets in.

Coues you don't have a hair on your a** if you don't do it!
I'd do it if I had the chance,
well when I was 25 I would have.
Now I'd rather try and figure out how to get in on the gravy train myself.
They're gonna need a good Inspector when that project gets goin.

I don't think there's any question of "fighting it". Not an option, and the fact is, it's not my company or my land... if they want to pave the whole bloody thing over, it's their right (in my opinion).

Doesn't mean I'm not still dismayed by the whole thing... and that Tejon Mountain Village website nauseates me. But hey... if you think you can get in there and make a buck off of it, then go for it. I won't deny a certain guilty wish that I could afford to get in on the early phase myself.

Just an FYI - the fine print on the website indicates the EIR hasn't been approved yet.

I'm thinking they're shooting big - so when the county and other agencies cut it down to half, they still have something economically viable.

I still have a hard time beliving they can pull off making a buck on this with virtually no infrastructure in place to support this size of a low density development.

Throw in a diamond plus club membership and sign me up for two units.

Tejon should just have hired me as top finance honco and they don't need the Arizona outfit to get part of the big loot. I can just use the Asia model of pre-selling.

I don't think it's a done deal. The EIR is definitely a road block and I read that the condors will be threatened since they have the tendency to approach shiny objects and swallow them. You want to form an environmental organization to oppose this development? I nominate Speck to be the President of the Tejon Ecosystem Initiative. Downside it that we can be blacklisted in the PORs for a long long time.

as a wise old Navy guy taught me years and years ago, "follow the money trail, it will tell you the 'why' of most every decision." Somebody at Tejon needs cash and DMB provided a business plan. Can't do much of nothing about it.

So my best recommendation is for a group of JHO'ers, very well-known to the folks at Tejon Ranch, to sit down with the Tejon folks and discuss how JHO as an organization can help with the expected pig problem.

In other words, don't let the Tejon folks go looking for a "professional pig eradication service" to solve their problem like the state of Kali did on the offshore islands.

Get there first with plan-in-hand. Especially emphasize that JHO members, as former paying hunting customers of Tejon, are willing to pay to help solve the problem.

Cheers,

Carl

I figure it will still be there until it conflicts with the "residents". I guess who'll win eventually?

I hate to say I told you all but I did! Everybody thought I was just being paranoid years ago but here we go. Once again I say visit this place and enjoy one of the last pure majestic local hunting spots in Cali. while it still exists.

Sounds good and all but I seriously doubt it. These type don't care about us hunters as much as you might think and the ones that do don't have the authority to help or do anything about it. In my oppinion, we were just a small filler on their corporate table that had minimal losses and a small gain untill D-Day happens. They will only keep raising prices and get everything they can from us untill things fall into place and they can justify to the tree huggers involved with the new plan that the pigs do more harm than good to the indigenious species and environment. At that time they will then take our money and hire one of these out of state or country outfits to put them in a dump to wrought. I cant tell you how pissed this makes me and I'm getting tired of typing with one finger being my right hand is stii in a cast so I will stop here.
