Wapiti, how in the world are you getting so many pileated shots??? They always look great! I've only seen them five times and the are always too far away for a decent shot.

I have them baited in on my deck. The "trees" you see them on are poles wired to my deck railing. I've drilled 1/2" holes in the sides and I put a peanut butter/corn meal/cracked corn mixture in the holes. I have black garbage bags taped to my dining room window for my "blind".

They visit every day, but the light has to be right for good shots....

That makes them even more incredible! Usually pictures taken through window glass do not turn out so well, good job Wapiti!

Great pictures there. Have taken quite a few out the window shots here, always seems the quality is somewhat lesser shooting through the glass, but by looking at your pics here think I will have to try the angled shooting.

Very nice shots, I love the way you have gone all out (on a limb)>>>LOL.. to get these shots. I think my wife would be getting me a bed in the home if I were to wire logs to the deck and tape black trash bags to the window for a blind, she freaked out when I put up my hunting blind by the feeder.
