In '07 I drew from the on-line system. It took awhile to get through as the site was jammed for the first few minutes, but I still got one. The problem is that the cost is still $912 and the wolves are eating the elk as we speak, where I hunt. Paying more for less will keep me home this year.

i went last year gotr a nice buck and a few does but didnt see any elk untill my last day of hunting and the roads were pretty icy could have used better chains.price increase and gas being what it is ill sit out a few years.

Screw them- now the outfitters and res can be happy- I've hunted MT since 89- when Guaranteed lic was around $600 and you could hunt on own after outfitted hunt it was OK used to hunt with friends i brought to AK to hunt- then that changed- then draw prices went up-last time i went for one was 09 and we took horses- dogs- baot etc to MT and stayed 2 1/2 mos spent a bit of $$- now with new prices- SCREW them and their big fat Greed.

Actually, MT is going to bank huge coin on the price increase. They added the outfitter set aside tags (which never sell out) to the draw, and only about 1000 didn't sell. Those will sell before the season, they were thrown into first come in September. Theres still enough demand to support the price increase.

I intended to hunt MT this year and have access to prime PP but the wolf tracks now dominate the elk tracks and that's no bueno so Colorado here I come. Gotta love that OTC!
