Mule Deer Photos Aug 26-27/03

[Saskman]

I was able to get a few photos this last weekend of some mule deer. The weather has been really hot so the deer are not moving until late. I had to bump the ISO on the camera up to 1600 so that I could still use fast enough shutter speeds to hand hold the camera. That is why a few of them are a little grainy. (oops, I see I got a little ahead of myself on the date in the title, It should read July 26-27/03)

Very pretty pictures... I like the 1 st best, the Colorations of the grass and all is perfect.

What camera equipment were you using to capture those photos. They are very pretty... I plan to do alot of pic taking this upcoming season from stand, I am hopeful my Oly 750 with 1.7 Tcon is sufficient to capture nice pictures like this.

I am using the Canon EOS 10D digital camera. The lens I was using was the Canon 75-300 IS . The photos are a little grainy due to the low light and high ISO I used. I really love the camera even though I can't afford all of the lenses I would like right now.

The first two photos were at ISO 800 and a shutter speed of 1/1000. The last two photos were taken after the sun had set and were shot at ISO 1600 with a shutter speed of 1/350. All of these photos were cropped some and then resized for the web.

Great pics Saskman, hard to pic a favorite but that 1st one with the grass is just eye grabbing.

That Canon EOS 10D is on my wish list.

I knew the answer before I asked. I figured it was the EOS 10D thats a great lil camera... I almsot got it, but wanted something a lil simpler for stand use so got the Oly 750... I may get this camera in the future. Its a great Camera, And you did a great job capturing those deer.. They look really nice.

Nice pics! I like the first one and the one of the "twins". Yes, there's a little grain showing in those last ones, but it's impressive that you can get something that good at ISO 1600.
Very nice, those are "keepers". ( the pics AND the deer....)
