This one is puzzling. It was only a few feet away from the first one but not a match. It is much smaller but notice the base. It is actually broken off. Both antlers are fresh from this year.
I saw 3 bucks still holding antlers, At least one buck that had shed. I also saw 2 herds of elk. One herd had several bulls in it. It will be a while before they drop.
Went out watching today. I say watching because too many are still holding and I will not push them. We still have a while here before they will all be off. Had a few come in close while I was out though.
I watched this buck walk down a trail with one antler. He fed behind some trees and I walked over a ridge and glassed another hillside. When I came back over to glass him again he was bald headed. I made my way over and found this shed.
And last but not least I found this old one on my way out. I have a shed from this same deer a few years ago. I recognize him from the small little point at the bottom.
Thanks Kram. I am planning on heading out again soon. I hope to have more pics then.
Here is a last parting shot for now. This one is real old. It was tough to tell it ever even was shed. Interesting how they turn to dust after so long.
Great pickups and pictures mulies.I'd love to have time lapse of a shed in different spots, but lasting ten+ years.I'd like to know exactly how old some actualy are.It could be 5 years, it could be 50+?
