Here's a boar that I killed recently that was traveling with 6 other hogs when I found him. He was twice as big as the other pigs in the group and luckily, when I got busted by one of the smaller pigs, this one had just cleared the last bit of brush giving me a good shot at 29 yards.
When my bullet hit him in the chest, pigs raced away in every direction, and this boar took off running in a big circle, in plain sight. After making one big loop, he flipped over, hoofs in the air, expiring right in front of me.

Nice hog and congrats. How much did he weigh? What was the weight and kind of sabot you used?

I used a 285 gr. Barnes Spitfire bullet. I've used this particular bullet on a lot of game and it has always done the job.
I didn't weigh the pig but my guess is 250-280 lbs.

Nice job, sounds like fun. I'd like to get one with a muzzeloader sometime.
