I had an awesome time yesterday hunting with my 12 yr old for his first hog. Everyone can say what they want about Big Horn Canyon Ranch but he had to work hard for his pig. Charlie and Jim were awesome and made sure he got a shot at a pig. And I was proud of his one shot kill ,a head shot with his .243. I have hunted my entire life and all over and this was a lot of hiking in steep canyons for a 12 yr old. May not be what everyone one wants but I can think of no better place to get your son started with sucess under his belt! He was one happy boy

Thanks Charlie and Jim for a great day

It doesn't matter where he killed the pig or if you paid for it, as long as he earned it! It sounds like he did.

Congratulation to your son for his first pig!

By the size of the pig compared to your son are you sure the pig wasn't hunting your son? Great Job. Hunting is all about passing on the family traditions. Big Horn is some of the harshest hiking. Your son should be proud to have made it in and out with a pig that size. Now he can tell others and keep the traditions of hunting moving forward.

Whether or not we pay for a guide or go to a ranch or hike with a gun on public property. It is the lessons learned when hunting that make it the quality hunt. Not many hunts can be made better than father and son. That is the hunt not where. Congrats to the kid and better yet to the father for taking him out.
