Hey guys, I have enjoyed reading all of the posts on Jesses for years. Thought I might join you. This is my 2005 elk I shot in northwestern Montana. I rough scored him at 308 and he was pushing 900lbs. XDHUNTER is nice enough to post my pictures until I can figure out how to post them myself.

Welcome to JHO, Huntnfool13. This is a good place to visit, even better to call home.
Congrats on you '05 bull. What part of NW Montana are you talking? I hunted in NW Montana this year and came home empty-handed. How'd it go for you this year?

Hey FTTPOW, we hunted the Cabinet Mountains in the Kootenai National Forest. My buddy and I hunted with an outfitter called Elk creek outfitting. First class outfitter. The areas we hunted were designated wilderness areas and were only accessible by foot or horse back. Which we did everyday. Allot of old logging roads. This area was more quality animals than quantity. This is a picture of the outfitter and one of his guides with my elk. And the elk on the meat pole. As for this year I got a nice forkie which I posted on the mule deer page and it's posted under 'My Colorado mule'. Thanks much for the info on resizing SDHUNTER. I think I figured it out. Huntnfool, I hunted in the Cabinets this year as well. This was my 5th trip out there in the past 10 years. I'll bet we've walked some of the same trails. We never made it into the Wilderness this year, but we skirted around some of the edges. Where were you based out of? I was in Libby.

We were based out of Plains. About an hour to an hour and a half drive to our hunting area. We would ride the horses on the old logging roads until we either ran out of road or saw something glassing. Than it was hoofing it. All heavy lodgepole timber and allot of fallen trees. I hunted the Selway Bitterroot in Idaho 4 years ago and it's just as rugged. You just know something big lives in that thick timber.
