I went down to the Pacific after work today to practice a little shooting, just thought I would share a few shots. These were all taken with my DReb in M mode.
Hopefully you will enjoy.

This gull was sitting on the rocks of the jetty when I first got there. I sat and watched him for awhile and caught him stretching. My wife says the bouy in the background is distracting, what do you think?

Next was this old structure on the jetty. Not sure what it was used for, but I placed the sun behind to get the silhouette effect.

Next I watched some surfers catching the swell created by the recent storms here in San Diego.

Finally what shoot would be complete without a sunset. Ahhhh.....

I agree with your wife on the first pic. I like the sun silhouette and the sunset.

Eric, been real busy lately. Elk hunt in Colorado-no elk
<
, then with the rains work is very busy.

Dan, It is a Canon Digital Rebel 300D with a Tamron 75-300mm and Canon 18-55mm lens. I am very happy with this camera, but I want a better one already.

Ranchwife, thank you. I have a few other sunsets I'll have to process and post.

Thanks G!

Now that the D-20 is out are you salivating yet? (that's the D-10 upgrade with an 8 mp chip). I want to work with my lens collection for a couple of years and get the ones I want, the upgrade the body. I've got a 170-500 MM Sigma on order and want to get a fast normal lens and maybe a faster 300. It may take a while. Hopefully by then, the 20D will be a 40 D with a 14 mp chip in it.

Those are some seriously good shots.

. I can't wait to see some of the pics from the "Bigma". I'm saving up right now for a quality low light lens, I really enjoy those dusk/dawn and night time type shots.

Yep, that's much better - now the bird is the focus!
