Here's a bull my brother(on right) shot back in '99. We'd hunted our asses off for 7 days and his patience paid off when this bull came over the hill the last 5 minutes on the last night! What a hunt!

Did your brother smoke him with a .243; the back up gun?

Just goes to show that a well placed shot beats power any day!!!! What distance did he shoot him at with the 243?

M57jager. I shot him 3 times: the first shot at 100 yards- two running shots at about 150 yards, then he dropped. All were in the chest, they're tough animals.

LORD what a bull!!!!

I watched a guy's mouth fall open when he shot one smaller than that in the bread basket with a 300 mag and the bull just looked back, turned and kept walking. The guide was screaming, "shoot again, shoot again!!!" Finally he recovered and shot the bull 2 more times before it dropped. All were good shots but the first 2 were seemingly ignored by the bull. Tough dudes.

I'm a "stick flipper" and I wonder sometimes how we ever kill them with a bow when they just keep walking after being hit hard by a rifle like a 300 mag and 220gr bullets.

I was working for the taxidermist here in the Phoenix area who did the mount of your brother's bull (if I remember correctly, it measured right at 387 non-typical). I've run into your brother a couple of times since then; be sure and tell Jim "hello' for me ...
