My buddy got his first Big Game animal

A buddy of mine killed his first big game animal this weekend. He has a guy he works with that owns property on the back side of Mt. Diablo. He went up there on Saturday morning and killed a 200lb hog late that after noon. The guy charged him $100 for killing the pig. He's going to try and get me and another one of our buddies up there. He said this place is loaded with hogs. If I'm lucky enough to get in on this, I'll post some pics (hopefully) or atleast a story.

That's an opportunity most of us just dream about! Good luck. I remember a few years back, the newspapers were full of people in that area complaining about the hogs tearing up their yards.

That figures. I had a friend that owned 400 acres on the backside of Diablo and had access to the ranch behind it. Got deer and quail every year. Not long ago they told me some of the folks that built homes there, they sold and the purchaser sub-divided, were seeing a lot of pigs. Nada while we had access. Oh, well.

Well, talked to my buddy this weekend. He and my other buddy are going up on sunday the 27th. The next time he goes he takes me, can't wait. From what he said, the guy has wheat fields and the hogs come down and just tear it up. They actually killed 3 hogs that weekend my buddy killed his first pig. I guess there are a few houses somewhat near by, so they guy is saying we can only use our 243's and not my 300 mag. That's ok, the shots are under 150 yards and my 243 is deadly at that distance. 100 grain partitions should put some pork in the freezer. I will let you all know how this plays out, from what my buddy said, this could turn out to be a regular thing.
