There is absolutely no way I can describe the joy, elation and satisfaction on my daughters face when this cow dropped. (on my face too!) I'm so darned proud of her. She's 20 years old and only 95 pounds. She is shooting a 257 Roberts, and only took one shot.
Taken in Western Wyoming, first light this morning. And incredibly, home at 9:30 ! A perfect eating yearling cow.

I never know you could load an elk inside the truck bed with one leg upside down on the side of the truck.

Being a teacher, it is great to see kids like your daughter out there taking part in the circle of life. She looks great in hunter orange too.

The leg sticking up in the stake pocket is from last year. It's a tradition in our family, we bring it along for good luck. ;-)

Great to see kids envolved in hunting. Can not wait for the day my son can hunt. That's a few years away, he is only 3.

Well, congrats to your daughter~! That's fantastic~!

Hopefully my daughter takes to hunting...@ 5, she's already picking my wife's "I'd rather be in a mall" mentality....but there's still hope

When my daughter was 8 she looked at me & said,"Dad I'm an indoor kid". I soon put a stop to that! We just got back from deer hunting, no deer but a good time was had by all. She is now 19 & my other daughter is 12. Truely outdoor kids! Nice job!

Congradulations! My daughter shot her first Antelope in Montana last week I know the feeling of being proud.. Now I would love to find a rancher to let her shot a cow elk like your daughter...

Again Congradulations!!

Congratulations to the lady and her dad. How long do you think the swelling in the chest and head will take to subside? My eldest sister uses a .257 Roberts for deer and switches to the '06 for elk and moose. My little sister, uses the .250Savage for deer and antelope and the '06 for elk/moose. Be sure to have the whistlers mounted or set in acrylic, maybe! Again, good for her!

Well done to you and you're daughter! What a nice experience to be shared together!

My niece is only 5, but the Outdoor Channel is her favorite. She's already wanting her uncle to take her hunting, too.

Nice wood work, BTW. That takes tallent!
