My dream would be to own a portion of land that I could manage my own game and hunt pigs, deer, hell anything on. To make a purchase via gov. auction or private just for building a hunting cabin and hunt off of. Is land like this available? Is this possible? Or is this just MY DREAM??? Can I be a Chopper?

Superduty,

I was on a auction a few months back and caught a piece of property being auctioned off for really cheap. I didnt have the funds to make a bid, but it was fun to dream. Things like that are available, you just gotta search for them. Anythings possible...I share the similiar dream

Superduty,

I have that very same dream. In fact I have it every night. Your dream is alive and well, but the dream may be far away in the state of California. My dream takes place in California, but it may come to reality sooner in Texas.

When I first found this site I was reading your post on that land I believe. They said it got pulled off of auction though. I have drifted quit often the land auction site but without any inclination as to if the area holds game or not. I believe you can always find the way to come up with the money. The hard part is finding the right piece of land and enough of it. Don't and Won't put up one of those electrified fences if you know what I mean.

Superduty,

Look north, young man!

There's property to be had, with pigs and deer, and at a relatively reasonable cost too! Check out the recreational property listings right here on this ol' internet, and you'd be shocked at what's available.

Speck, do you have the link for that? This site has been nothing but great for me
<
. Anybody that has anything to offer information wise would be greatly appreciated and might put me one step closer to my dream.
<
Or if you just share the same dream lets hear it.
<
I hunted a ranch in Alabama that the owner was just finishing his hunting ranch house. I was invited to help on game management with my family to take some doe. Boy was I excited to see him accomplishing his dream.

Definately the same dream I dream.
It helps me relax. Hey I know....we could chip in on some land and only allow Fords on the property. Oh ! and Speck.

Yeah, everytime I go to Parkfield, I dream of winning the lottery and buying the Vanhorn's ranch from them. I'd let them live there for free and learn as much as possible from them. I'd let my family and friends hunt free and charge thier friends just enough to help cover insurance. I'd do as much as possible on Horseback and use the trucks just to drop feed for the cattle.

I'd Host a Huge Pigorama twice a year (Spring and Fall) where we would BBQ the kills at night. We'd eat and drink till we all felt Fat, Dumb, and Happy.

Cigars and cold drinks for the hunters and yard games for the kids. The Women would'nt have to do a thing except enjoy the view and gain an understanding for why wer'e all there.

Oh Yeah ! ! ! I have a dream.
Thanks Superduty, I feel better now.

I'll take you up on the game of shoes. I have wanted to own my own place since I first started hunting. Someday. Life would be over if you couldn't dream.

You never can give up on your dreams. Who knows, it's a small investment for a lifetime of what you believe in. I think the experience of growing up and spending time hunting with family, friends, and even sharing it with the first timer makes for a good solid base of morality and respect for all things. People do the whole pyramid scham with all sorts of shady people. I think we have very reputable and capable men/women on this site to put the dream together if wanted. Hell, I would be more willing to get involved with you guys then some family members I know. Ten people, one hundred thousand apiece makes all ten happy for the rest of their lives.
<
Heck, you would spend more on a 1400 sq ft home in slumes ville with no back yard. It's just hard sometimes waiting around untill the time is right when you have family/friends dropping from cancers at all ages. I guess you never know. Work hard to play hard has always been my moto.

Superduty,

I'm on the six year countdown (if I don't do something stupid before that) to pay off my house, then I'll be seriously in the market for my own piece of "dreamland". I've been trying to decide if I want a property in elk/mule deer country, or some good hog and blacktail property.

Anyway, look around, make some informed decisions, and get on with your dream. There's only one time to do it... and if you pass it up, well, there'll be no one else to blame but yourself.

Like I said before, it might hurt for awhile but it is a lifetime investment in what gives us our sanity back from society.

Well worth my time/monies. With some of the talent in here it would just take somebody to take the lead.

From there it is just a short time before

Superduty,
I'm a building engineer with a background in general construction and knowledge in a lot of the trades. "If we build it, they will come".
Seriously though, have truck and tools, will gladly chip in on the labor. Once I get a hammer in my hand....
