Awesome story, and congrats on the first bow kill . The Hoyt Kobalt is a nice piece, I shoot a blacked out Hoyt Avenger, but haven't killed anything with it yet xP.
High 5 Krista,
Nick good job on the encouragement. I know the feeling about having a great hunting partner and companion. My wife made me proud when she drew her Ft hunter liggett Cow Elk tag and shot her Elk from 200 plus yard one shot using my 7mm weatherby mag. The following year harvested her 1st Mule deer buck at my buddys ranch in Montana by making another nice 200 + yard shot. Where looking at Antelope hunt maybe this year if we draw a Calif tag up north.
Congrats to the both of you again. You got a hunting partner for life.
Krista says thank you to all. She is very excited about ALL the support she has been receiving from me, our local archery shop, JHO, and friends.
THANKS AGAIN GUYS!
As for when am I going to lock her in....... hmm.... I dont know. Iam only 24. We have been living together for 3 1/2 years. So you can almost say we are locked in. just without the legal paperwork. But one day.
Great story, congrats. A good lookin' girl woman like that, and a hunter to boot!! I hope you've got a carry permit, some of these JHO fellers might be lookin' to make a move!! :roll-wink-green:
Well introduce her to the forums so she can read stuff over as she waits for the next time you head out hunting, I only get to go hunting once or twice a year, and I sympathize with her as far as her losing interest in archery after a while of nothing but shooting, you can be the most enthusiastic of hunter, but without the stimulus of actually heading out and taking an animal, it will fade in time, so congrats to you!

I started thinking about a way to REALLY make krista's first Archery hunt and harvest special and decided to contact a few hunting magazines and see if they would be willing to publish her story & pictures. So far I have been turned down by, 2 of the 3. Good thing I never told krista about it (i wanted it to be a surprise) because its looking like it aint going to happen.
Ive contacted:
Eastmans' Bowhunting Journal
BowHunt America Magazine
I have not been able to get an actual e-mail address or phone number (that works) for boar hunter magazine. Not sure what's going on there!
If anyone knows of a magazine who may publish her story please let me know. I think krista would LOVE seeing her first experience in the woods with a bow get that much attention!
Thanks, Nick-
Try North American Hunter, although they may require you to be a member (but its a great magazine), they do plenty of publications that people write into them, I myself know a couple people that have had theirs published!
cbh will do you..also try california game and fish{if there still around}those other dudes are way to much into the {money shot} hunts to publish that great story bro..
boarhunter magazine has published a few of my hunts in the past ...give them a shot also..
