It was my first elk hunt and I'm not sure if even three of us could have gotten that elk hung up. It was all two of us could do to position it the way we did to cut it up. We asked a guy with two horses if he would pack it out and after telling him where it was he said no because of how rough it was. It was acutally vey clean after we were done. Skinned one side and cut that side up then flipped it over and did the other side. Had game bags to put the meat in. BUGLE magazine had an article about gutless processing and although I haven't got the full info yet it made sense to do it the way we did.
