Well its the last day of the season to hunt the lake and I have been on the trails before the crack of dawn, I snuck in a pine grove with bedding first thing this morning hopeing to ambushp a pig with the crossbow but nada , there is some sign here and there. after this little rest break I will try another area with good cover and bedding.
Weather a little warm with swirling winds , wish it stayed raining!.........tra

Hope you got lucky tra! How'd the rest of the day go?? Thx for comin by and chattin, I was so pumped!. I had a 5 yard shot on that pig and stoned it with a 3 x vital hit. Thankfully the ground was wet so I was able to sneak up quietly on it and the 2 others as they were bedding, never even knew I was there. Even had the video head cam and got it all on film. I was feeling lucky! sonomahog2.jpg sonomameathog.jpg

Alright I think I am somewhat back to normal after being up for 22 hrs striaght yesterday for the hunt.

Thanks everyone for your replies, it was a super long day yesterday everything was good for the morning hunt water was flowing strong down all the trails and ravines the ground was soft and quiot but by afternoon the warm winds already dried the ground and leaves so creeping though the woods was tougher. there where a few other hunters zoomin around the areas of the lake here and there, I tried to find some remote areas in the woods where bedding was and would hang out with hopes that some pigs might come through but no luck.

Super Congrats to CRiley for whacking his first public land wild pig bowkill, just awesome bro! We got to hook up next season and share a hunt .

Well another season of wild pig Bowhunting at Lake Sonoma has ended, I have learned so much more about hunting the lake this year and can't wait till November to hunt there agian.
I really enjoy sharing my hunting adventures with u all successful or not and someday I will whack me a public land pig with a bow and that will be a great day day for sure to share with u all, until then please enjoy my hunting adventure stories......tra uploadfromtaptalk1333041550140.jpg
