My NOv 05 Elk is back from Taxidermist

Good bull! He took quit a ride from the sound of it.
I've hunted near Noxon. What's the story behind the hunt? We may have trod some of the same real estate, or at least in the same area. Nice country side up there.

I posted the entire story last November and you can probably search and find it. Quick version is I went with a guide up there and not sure exactly where it was but it was beautiful country. Anyway, we were about 15 miles back in on horses and I had to take a 450 yard plus shot.

The best part about this mount is that the guy that delivered him to me invited me to hunt up in the Noxon area with him in 2007. He knows the area well and has several hundred acres of private property to hunt. No big $$$ for a guide. This was the first time I had ever used a guide and it was well worth it but quite pricey on a cop's salary.

Glad to hear no one was hurt and that the mount was OK. It is really amazing how well they pack those mounts. Nice elk!!

CONGRATS. HE LOOKS BEUTIFUL ON THE WALL. YOU ARE EXTREMELY LUCKY WITH THE MISHAP. UNFORTUNATLY I AM NO STRANGER TO LOSING SOMETHING ON THE FREEWAY EITHER. I HELPED A FELLOW JHO BUDDY MOVE HERE LOCALLY AND WE LOST A COUPLE OF CHRISTMAS DECORATION BOXES OFF THE BACK OF MY TRAILER. I'm glad your elk did not blow up into a thousand pieces as a semi smashed through it...or worse, accident or injury! Gosh, and to think it still looks so good on the wall... Congrats on such a nice wall hanger!
