Opening weekend of C zone was really crowded. We managed to find a decent fork for my grandson but the rest of us blanked.
One week in D zone during the rain didn't work out for me so I came home.
3 days later back to C zone in a different area. I hunted 6 days in the rain off and on without seeing a buck. One day I didn't even see a doe. I was leaving on the 7th day and of course it was raining in the morning. I didn't start my walk until 8 am because I couldn't see 100 yards. Once I could see 200 yards I went for my last hunt of the week. At 9 am I shot a good 3x3. I guess you need to hunt on the last day of the hunt just like you did on the first few days.

I will go one more time to D zone, but I cannot hunt the last weekend. It looks like I will not be hunting in the rain on my next hunt. Everyone tells me hunting in the rain is the best time to hunt but for me most of the time all I get is wet and cold. This 3 point was walking a trail like he was in a hurry to get somewhere after the sun started to come out a little. I had no time to evaluate him; it was shoot or don't shoot.

Lot of similar stories this year. Hunt till you feel like your done. Then hunt one more day and you get it done. Nice buck no evaluation necessary!!!
