Wyoming elk license draw aopplications were due in by Jan 31st. I think they have a left-over draw in July. Idaho is over the counter -- good hunting, but you'll need to put in the foot work and best to do some scouting. Our group has had success in the Chalis & Salmon areas. I know in Chalis, some ranchers were offering ranch access for fees of $500-$1000. Two large herds (talking 100+ animals) were down low in that area this past season.

inn of the mountian gods...but the deadline is passed. but here is the crap part of the deal. every person you bring with you will need to pay ($200?) so no friends, and fellow meat mules, if you score. hunting solo is less fun that sharing with friends and family. $500 is for a cow elk.

I don't think that's the name of the place...I'm still searching..a friend of mine gave me the link 1 1/2yrs ago and I'm contacting him again for it...stay-tuned.

BTW, that price is still a lot cheaper than a guided hunt -- split the price with a couple of friends + the meat...
