To get the rest of the fat and shit off of the skull you need to boil it with baking soda which will make it really easy. Where I have gotten my chemicals in the past for peroxide is from a swimming pool store.

I also here that hair salons sell pure peroxide. Just another option.

I've used the regular stuff with decent results. I soak the skull in water first for a few days, then boil/simmer with water and peroxide. every so often I'd take it out and clean off some of the meat and fat as well as put fresh water and peroxide in the pot.

Once all the junk is cleaned off the skull and the brain is out. I'll make a paste-like mixture with baking soda and peroxide, and brush it all over the skull. Let that sit for a few days then just rinse off with a hose.

I've never soaked any of my skulls in peroxide. I just soak them in a bucket of water for a while, use a scalpal to get all that loose stuff off, then boil with a mix of pickeling salt and sal-salt, then I use a light brisled brush and scalpal to finish cleaning it up, then let dry completely, then I pour regular peroxide over the skull and in the skull, let it work for a couple minutes and re-do, let it work and re-do, then rinse with water, let dry completely again, finish it by spraying a couple light coats of the spray can laquer finish.

I don't like the bleached white look. I like it as natural as possible. The paste worked pretty good in that regard. I've done a wolf, antelope and deer skulls with this method and the wolf turned out the best.

Good luck with your project, show us some pics of the finished product.

SORRY, I HAVE BEEN SLACKING. SOUNDS LIKE THE OTHER GUYS HAVE BEEN HELPING YOU OUT. AFTER YOU REMOVE THE SKULL FROM THE PEROXIDE, LET IT DRY IN THE SUN FOR A DAY OR TWO AND IT WILL HELP BRIGHTEN IT UP. POST A PIC SO WE CAN SEE.
I JUST SHOT A RUSSIAN HOG WITH MY BOW. I POSTED IN THE BOW HUNTING SECTION. ANYWAY THE SKULL WAS TOO BIG FOR MY POT AND I READ ON A POST HERE THAT SOMEONE HAS TRIED STICKING A SKULL IN A COMPOST PILE. I AM GOING TO TRY THIS METHOD ON MY HOG. IT STINKS LIKE CRAZY AND I DONT THINK MY STOMACH CAN TAKE IT ANY OTHER WAY.
MULIES.
