Hope this isn't the wrong forum. I want to go out on a June trip if I can find one, but may have to book all the way out to July. I really don't want to have to pay for two hunters just to go alone. Anyone need a partner or want to go out on a hunt? Please reply or PM me if you are interested! I would be willing to work something out to make it more appealing to you. Thanks!

Some Added Info-

I'm in Santa Barbara and am looking to go on a pig hunt pretty much anywhere within say 4 hours from here. That would cover all of the central coast SLO/Paso areas. I don't have a hunt booked but was looking at http://www.pig-hunt.com as a possible option. I'm open to suggestions on where to go!!! I would love to get out in June, but don't know if I can find an opening that soon. I've been shooting all of my life but this is my first hunt. I'm licensed and have taken then Advanced Pig Hunting Clinic at Fort Hunter Liggett. I don't know any other hunters, so I cannot get into many of these places that require 2 or 3 hunters. I have a 4x4 if needed for acccess anywhere. I would be shooting a 30.06 and am looking for meat not trophy. I'm not a psycho or weirdo, just a guy that wants to shoot a pig! I'm hoping to get a few hunts in this year so I can be a bit more experienced to take my sons next year.

Not sure what else to add, please ask a question if more info is needed....

I don't know how many guys would reply to a post with such little information. Aside from the fact that you have a hog hunt booked in a month, you haven't shared any other information. No introduction, location... nothing.

So, speak up. If you want to be heard.

SB, how much are you planning to spend, and how far can you travel? There are plenty of good hunts that don't require two hunters, but you'll want to do some calling around.

The Work Ranch and Jack Ranch are both well-regarded operations, by the way, so those are good options if you're looking that way. A quick search on this site will turn up some other good outfitters/guides as well, like Bryson Hesperia Resort, Mustang Outfitters, or RNJ Adventures.

Not to discourage you from looking for partners. A lot of times a hunt can be a lot more fun if you get to share the experience, and meeting new folks from a forum like this is a great way to start long-time friendships! Good luck with that!

Thanks for the replies! I"m looking to spend in the neighborhood of 500-700 for the hunt. As far as travel, I think I would travel anywhere I could drive in 6-8 hours from Santa Barbara.

I was under the impression Tejon was more of a go out on your own type of deal, I would prefer having a guide with me on my first hunt. I will go look into that right now. Thanks!

I think Randy at RNJ might have something open in July. Check with him, that is when the tuskers are out.

I'm in Santa Barbara and I was thinking about a guided hunt this summer also. All 3 of my hunting partners moved away over the past 3 years so I mostly hunt solo now, would be nice to meet more local hunters. If you find something let me know.

Theres lots and good pig hunting just 30 min from Santa barbara. I did one at Rancho San Julian about 6 years ago and I know there are other ranches around there that do them to. Try Hogs Wild in Coalinga only a few hours from you.

Hi sboldman, & bjake21,
I live in Oxnard, family's in Carp. I too am a new pig hunter, I killed my first one last week, and grilled sausage last night for the first time!
I haven't got a hunting partner either, I've been gone for years in the Army and just haven't met any hunters here yet. By the way, I have VAFB access, I will definitly be killing my deer there this year.
If you are going to do a guided hunt, I'd suggest Twisselman outfitters, I've been on only one guided hunt in my life and it was a great time.
Anyway it looks like this is a great place to meet other local hunters.....
