Just a LITTLE folowup to this Nv elk hunt. The 2nd day offers no shooting "OPS".The Bull from the 1st day brings a Good 5X5 back near the waterhole/blind area, but the Older bull sences something that is not right,
and doesn't come in.
We decide to pickup and hunt the other side of the Mountain for the P.M. hunt.Walking into the area,WE come onto a small "Rag Horn" bull, and He runs off.A little farther into the area,a cow and spike are spotted bedded.Arrive at Blind/Watersourse,hunt till dark. The only elk that come in are Cow/Calf combos and a few Mustangs.Day 2 ends.
A small hunt story,to get everyones "JUICES" going,as many hunts are near, for ALL---
That's great that you're out there getting to experience it too. I'd sure like to be along filming on my cousin's 111 L elk hunt this year. He just may bag the trophy of a lifetime.
This Nevada archery bull elk hunt came to a "Close"
as the Lucky hunter
arrowed a "GOOD" 6X6 Bull Sunday evening at 6:50 p.m.
After watching 70 "some" elk feed and come to water/blind,most of the day, this Bull came into the waterhole all alone.Stopping to "ALMOST" drink, the hunter made a Perfect 20 yd shot to Double Lung,His best elk to date. The bull went only 30 yds and went down.A 125 grn "Muzzy" did the job.
The field work was handled in the "DARK" and everyone arrived back at Camp at 12 midnight, with many stories re-lived.The next morning,We arrived back at the elk and packed the quartered Bull out and had the "PARTS" hanging in My walkin cooler at 11 a.m.This evening We are "Cuttin and Wrappin',to bring this "Great" hunt to a Official End
