Was lucky and drew a Nevada Elk tag units 161-164 171-173. Was wondering if anyone knew of a outfit who does drop camps. We are looking to be dropped off in the Table Mountain wilderness area. Thanks in Advance. Good luck out there

Bull Elk, I will be using my rifle. The hunt is NOV 6-20. I will be doing a scouting trip later this month. Nevada can get bone chilling that time of year. I know it will require more gear than a average early season backcountry deer hunt. I think a drop camp will be my best option for getting deep into the wilderness area But more importantly getting out with the gear and hopefully lots of meat and a huge rack.

Thanks ..........off trail

I know of some hunters from my area that got trapped in the Bull Runs last year during bull rifle season after a freak snowstorm dropped around 3 feet. We saw about 4 inches of snow (and still snowing) when we were near Tuscarora last September around the 22nd.

Outfitters need to be licensed, and they are assigned an area. You don't have more than one outfitter working any given area, unless someone is operating illegally. So you might just check with the Nevada Department of Wildlife for the registered guide that works the area your interested in.
