Never Hunted FHL, what is all involved to being allowed to hunt there?
I know there is a couple forms that have to be filled out and some Dollars t be paid but is it by reservation, first come first serve, can you pick the area you want to hunt or is it given to you, can you scout one area and move to another?
I have no Idea, any advise?

Fort Hunter Ligget

Step 1: Buy the permit.
Go here, print the form, fill it out, send it in:
http://fhlfmwr.com/files/fish&hunt/2015FishingPermit.pdf

Step 2: Register your weapons.
Go here, print the form, fill it out, send it in:
http://fhlfmwr.com/files/fish&hunt/Weapons Reg Form 8-1.pdf

Step 3: You need a Vehicle Pass, a Harvest Report Form, and the Teletrack check-in/check-out instructions. Go here, print the forms, keep them in your car:
http://fhlfmwr.com/files/fish&hunt/1308FHLTeletracInstructions.pdf
http://fhlfmwr.com/files/fish&hunt/2013HARVEST REPORTING V3.pdf
http://fhlfmwr.com/files/fish&hunt/MWR Dashboard Pass FHL HF V4.pdf

Step 4: You NEED to know the rules and regs. Go here, print it out, read it and understand it:
http://fhlfmwr.com/files/fish&hunt/April_2012_FHLReg420-26_signed.pdf

Step 5: Check the update website on Thursday for what area are open and what their respective restrictions are, make a plan, print the maps for the area you're going to hunt, go there and have fun.

Update page: http://fhlfmwr.com/outdoorweekly.html
Maps: http://fhlfmwr.com/outdoor_maps.html

Now you can hunt there, any time it is open. That's about as easy as I can explain it. You'll have to put your time in and work the areas to get a handle on the animal habits and possible locations. That's the fun part.

Yes, you can camp, Friday evening, to Sunday. You can hunt Saturday and Sunday only, and only when the base allows it.

You can change areas, but only areas that are open. Sometimes almost all areas are open, sometimes only a few, and sometimes none --- so check ahead before you go. Some areas are bow or shotgun only. It is used for training, so the military needs outweigh public hunting.

Great place. If you are into history, Mission San Antonio is inside the base and is a great place to take your children.

U can hunt Saturday to Thursday... Just not Friday... It's not as complicated as it seems... And yes u can camp there... U can change hunting Areas all day but my advice is to learn an area really good because the Areas are about 5000 thousand acres plus each.... Go on the weekdays because less pressure. Some of the pigs I got was from driving and saw them crossing the roads

Ones you pay the dues, learn how to use the hunt trac. it will show on the map what area are open and give you how many hunters are allowed and how many slots remains.

Hunt Trac, will have to start playing with that, I been trying to find a full area map of FHL but so far I have only found the individual area maps. I really want to be able to at least navigate to the areas and Positively know were I am when I get there, Don't want to be the lost guy asking every one where I am and how to get to.
All my camping and hunting stuff are in a trailer, any issues with pulling a trailer into the camping area?

Opa, you need to use the TA map supplied by the base in conjunction with the big map. every TA map have specific entry point.
You can not just drive around the base,Make a loop:rotflmao: or you will end up with a trespassing ticket.(GOT LOST EXCUSE DOESNT WORK AT THE BASE) LOL
The camp is big enough for a 20' trailer. so dont worry about it.

Definitely need to do some Home work on this before giving it a go.
Good bit on the trailer its a small one I made jus to haul everything to and from.
For Deer it is a A zone tag? is it a drawing tag?
Now I did notice they have two permits a General annual permit for 170 and a Pig only for like 130?
Does the General cover Deer and Pig? or do you need to purchase both?

The map I have has a lot more detail of I remember correctly. My dad did construction there and FHL gave him ethe map and special permits. I'm pretty sure it is not a civilian map

That's an old map Opa. area 30 is now 13E,next to it is 13B, 10/13 is now separate TA now. 13 is now 13W and 13A, 16 and 6 are divided into 2 .
and the map Parkermann talking about is the military map.
